Guided tours for pupils aged 5 and primary children:

During our guided tours of the Cathedral for pupils aged five and primary school children we use a discovery learning approach, encouraging pupil participation through questions. To engage children’s interest storytelling is used to explain the theme of the tour, and topics are related to everyday life or other references to help with comprehension. We also focus on repeating key concepts so that children can assimilate and relay the most important information.

Guided tours are for a maximum of 35 pupils and last for 1 hour or, if complemented with a workshop for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Tours are available Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 1pm.

We offer different types of guided tours based around various topics. We have educational material available for all of these so you can prepare the visit beforehand and work on what pupils have learnt afterwards in school.
